The Driver’s Companion by Mark Rushton

thedriverscompanion The Driver’s Companion is a collection of instrumental pop/rock/electronica and ambient music recorded and assembled at East Highlands Studio by Mark Rushton from 2001 to 2003.

Mark Rushton: “My first album.  It’s a collection of tracks that are more rock and dance oriented than anything else I’ve done since, although a few have more electronic or even ambient elements.

Even after all these years I’m happy with the way it turned out.  People really seem to love “Swimming Under Stars”, which is so unlike anything else on the record.

I had the album professionally mastered at a studio in Cedar Falls, Iowa and it does sound great, especially the bass parts.

The only real regret I have is not calling Adventitious something like ‘The Adventitious Blues’, because it’s based on blues riffs.  I had thought about doing that at the time but later changed my mind.
