Hi, this is Mark Rushton of markrushton.com – thanks for listening to my podcast of original or live ambient and electronic music and field recordings. This is Podcast #131 produced on Sunday March 4, 2018. This podcast is called “Patreon”
I almost started a Patreon campaign a couple years ago, but backed off and didn’t do it. I’m never sure about these sorts of things. These companies, they always change. For the worse. Kind of like what happened to social media. And Patreon did try to change in 2017 and the complaints from patrons and creators were so loud that the CEO quickly backed off and didn’t do it. Mea culpa. And I kind of like that.
So, I’ve got a Patreon campaign now. It’s just another way people can support my work. Link is in the description. Link is on my web site, markrushton.com
It’s pretty simple. It covers the music and art. You can check out the rewards I offer. I may eventually provide original content there. I’m just dipping my toe in the water. I don’t really know where it’s going. But, for now, I’m committed. I’ve been regularly producing new sounds and new paintings, so I might as well.
For this podcast, I’m going to play something by me that hardly anybody has heard, and yet it is out there on all the services. It’s a track from several years ago, titled 120819-28. From the album 120819. This track has gotten 2 streams in the past year on Spotify. I learned my lesson. Don’t ever title your tracks with numbers and hyphens.
I hope you enjoy it, thanks for listening.
